The Langhe and Monferrato tell the stories of many figures connected with literature, history and sport. Visitors with specific interests can follow themed itineraries combining culture and landscape.
You cannot start anywhere other than Cesare Pavese, born in 1908 in Santo Stefano Belbo: between this village and Canelli lie many of the places described in his novels. Beppe Fenoglio is remembered throughout the Langhe, Vittorio Alfieri in Asti, Giovanni Arpino in Bra, and Camillo Benso di Cavour in Grinzane Cavour. Further east, in Novi Ligure, the Museum of Champions celebrates great cyclists such as Fausto Coppi and Costante Girardengo, both natives of the area.
